What is never allowed
- Any content that sexualises minors, whether real, drawn, animated, AI-generated or written, including characters presented as minors.
- Sharing, requesting, linking to or trading CSAM.
- Grooming: building trust with a minor in order to exploit them, asking a minor for sexual content, or moving a minor to private or off-platform conversations for that purpose.
- Sextortion, or threatening anyone with intimate images.
- Adults seeking romantic or sexual contact with minors.
How FurMap protects young members
- You must be at least 16 to join, and your date of birth is required when you sign up. Accounts of anyone under 16 are removed.
- Members aged 16–17 can't turn on 18+ content, their location on the map is always blurred by at least 2 km, and they aren't asked about orientation.
- 18+ content is hidden by default for everyone, and the FurMap apps from Google Play and the App Store don't offer 18+ content at all.
- Automatic filters, blocked-word lists and community moderation tools check posts, chats and uploads, and moderators review reports.
- Every member can block anyone, limit who can message them, and hide their age and online status.
How to report
- In FurMap: use Report on a profile, post, message, art board upload or community message. Reports go straight to FurMap's moderators.
- Support: file a “Safety Report & Moderation Appeal” ticket at furmap.org/support (also inside the apps), or email [email protected] with “Child safety” in the subject.
- If a child is in immediate danger, contact your local police or emergency number first. In the US you can also report to the NCMEC CyberTipline at report.cybertip.org.
How we respond
- Reports about child safety are handled first, before any other kind of report.
- We remove violating content, permanently ban the accounts involved, and prevent them from rejoining.
- We report apparent CSAM to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC), as US law requires, and preserve the relevant information for law enforcement.
- We cooperate with valid requests from law enforcement.
Child safety contact
