Delete your FurMap account

You can delete your FurMap account yourself at any time, from the app or the website. It takes effect immediately.

In the FurMap app or on furmap.org

  1. Sign in to FurMap.
  2. Open Settings (from the menu, or your profile picture at the top right).
  3. Scroll to Danger Zone and choose Delete Account.
  4. Confirm. You're signed out and the account is deleted.

Can't sign in? Email [email protected] from the address on your account (or tell us your username) with the subject “Delete my account”. We'll confirm it's your account and delete it within 30 days.

What's deleted

  • Your email address, password and sign-in links (Discord, Google, X).
  • Your username, profile picture, banner, bio, characters, interests and social links.
  • Your map pin and saved locations.
  • Your friends, follows and blocks, and your membership in chats.

What stays

  • Posts, comments and messages you sent to other people may remain, shown as “Deleted User”, so their conversations stay readable. Delete your posts first if you don't want them kept, or email us and we'll remove them.
  • Records we must keep for safety or legal reasons (for example reports and moderation decisions), and security logs and backups, which are overwritten after a limited time.
